Plugixa Image Map
Most image map plugins hand you a picture and a list of coordinates, then draw the result with JavaScript after the page has loaded. Search engines see an empty box, a screen reader hears nothing, and the map falls apart the day someone uploads a bigger copy of the image. Plugixa Image Map takes the other side of each.
You draw in a real editor: five shape tools, snapping, layers and groups, keyboard shortcuts, undo for everything and a preview at desktop, tablet and phone width. Hotspots are stored as percentages of the picture, so a map scales with its image. The server prints the picture, every shape and every tooltip into the page itself, and the script that adds hover, zoom and search loads only where a map is.
Every save is kept as a version you can go back to, unsaved work survives a closed tab, and two people editing the same map cannot overwrite each other. Nothing a visitor sees can run code: tooltips are cleaned like post content and there is no script action, so a map can be edited by people you would not hand a code editor to.

Features
Everything you need
Draw it the way you would in a design tool
Five tools and the habits you already have: drag to draw, hold Shift to constrain, press a letter to switch tool.
-
Spots, rectangles and ovals
Click to drop a marker, drag to draw a room or a zone. Shapes can be moved, resized and rotated.
-
Polygons
Click each corner of an irregular area, then add, move or remove corners afterwards.
-
Text labels
Put writing on the picture itself, in a sans, serif or mono system font.
-
Snapping and grid
Shapes line up with each other, with the picture edges and middle, and with a grid you set.
-
Magic wand Pro
Click inside an area with a clear edge and it is outlined for you as a polygon.
Make hotspots part of the picture
Quiet until someone explores, then clear: every hotspot has a normal look and a hover look.
-
Fill, stroke and opacity
Colour, outline, corner radius and transparency for every shape.
-
Hover colours
A second set of colours shown when a visitor points at or tabs to a hotspot.
-
Built-in icons
Pin, plus, info, check, star, flag and arrow for spot markers, with a soft shadow.
-
Your own icons Pro
Use any picture or SVG as a spot icon. SVG files are cleaned of everything that is not a drawing.
-
Animations Pro
Pulse, bounce or glow to draw the eye. Switched off for visitors who ask for less motion.
Say something when people point
Tooltips are written in the editor WordPress uses for posts, and cleaned the same way.
-
Rich text
Headings, bold, lists, links and pictures from the media library.
-
Hover or click
Open on hover or on click, with a fade or grow animation. Phones open on tap.
-
Stay open
Keep a tooltip open with a close button, for text that takes a moment to read.
-
Always in view
Tooltips pick the side with the most room and stay inside the map frame.
-
Filled from your content Pro
Show a post, page or WooCommerce product in the tooltip, always up to date.
Decide what a click does
A hotspot can be a real link, a signal to your own code, or a way to another floor.
-
Links
Web, email, phone and relative addresses, in the same tab or a new one.
-
Real links in the page
They work without JavaScript, open in a new tab on a middle click and are followed by search engines.
-
Events for developers
A hotspot can announce it was clicked, so your own JavaScript decides what happens.
-
No script action
On purpose. A map can be edited by people who should not be able to add code to the site.
-
Jump to a floor Pro
A staircase on one floor can open the next.
A map people can actually use
On a phone, on a wide screen, with a mouse, a finger or a keyboard.
-
Zoom and pan
Buttons, the mouse wheel, the + and - keys, or a pinch. You set how far in they can go.
-
Full screen
One button opens the map over the whole screen.
-
Searchable location list
A list of every hotspot beside or below the map, filtered as the visitor types.
-
Responsive by design
The map fills its column at any width, and the list moves below on narrow screens.
-
Page-load effects
A short fade or grow when the map first appears.
Stay in control of a busy map
A map with two hundred hotspots is as manageable as one with five.
-
Layers
Every hotspot in a list, in stacking order, reordered by dragging or with the keyboard.
-
Groups
Folders for hotspots: rooms, facilities, safety. Hide or lock a whole group at once.
-
Hide and lock
Prepare a hotspot without publishing it, or protect one from accidental edits.
-
Search layers
Find a hotspot by name in a long list.
-
Several floors in one map Pro
More than one picture, each with its own hotspots, switched with tabs.
Nothing you do is lost
Three separate nets: undo while you edit, history after you save, autosave for what you did not.
-
Version history
Every save is kept and any version can be restored. A restore can itself be undone.
-
Named checkpoints
Keep a version under a name, such as "Before the spring move". Checkpoints are never trimmed.
-
Autosave and recovery
Unsaved changes are kept and offered back after a crash, a dropped connection or a closed tab.
-
Conflict protection
If someone else saved while you were editing, you choose what happens. Nothing is overwritten silently.
-
Trash and restore
A trashed map keeps its history and comes back as it was.
Show the right hotspots to the right people
One map, different views of it. Hidden hotspots are left out of the page, not just made invisible.
-
Date range Pro
Show a hotspot from one day until another: a pop-up stand, a seasonal trail, an offer.
-
Guests or members Pro
Show a hotspot only to visitors who are logged in, or only to those who are not.
-
By role Pro
Limit a hotspot to chosen roles, such as staff or exhibitors.
-
Cache friendly Pro
Visitors who see the same hotspots share one cached copy of the map.
-
Statistics Pro
Views, tooltip opens and clicks per day and per hotspot, with no cookies and nothing stored about who visited.
