Introducing Plugixa Car Parking 1.0.0: Car Park Bookings, Run from WordPress

Plugixa Team 3 min read

Meet Plugixa Car Parking, version 1.0.0. It turns a WordPress site into a reservation system for car parks: parking lots, garages, airport park and ride, valet, residential and EV-charging spaces. Customers book a space through a step-by-step form, and you manage every booking from one admin app.

What it does

You add your car parks as locations, say which space types each one offers and how many of each, and set a price per billing unit. Place the booking form on a page with a shortcode or a block. A visitor picks dates, sees the spaces that are free with the price of each, enters their details and confirms. The booking appears in your list and on your calendar, and both you and the customer get an email.

It is built on its own database tables and a REST API, so lists stay fast as bookings grow, and the price of every booking is worked out on the server against live availability.

Highlights

  • Any number of locations, each with its own space types, capacity, opening hours, closures and special days.
  • Prices per minute, hour, day, week or month, with an optional one-off fee and a different price at one location where you need it.
  • A booking form in four steps, placed with the [plugixa_car_parking] shortcode or the Car Parking Booking Form block.
  • A form builder for the steps and your own questions, with as many forms as you need.
  • Coupon codes that take a percentage or a fixed amount off, with usage limits, a minimum spend, valid dates and a scope of locations or space types.
  • Pay on arrival, with instructions you write, and a payments ledger where you record payments and refunds.
  • A bookings list with search, filters, CSV export and a trash, and a calendar by month, week or day.
  • A customer page to find a booking by reference and email, view its printable summary and cancel it.
  • Confirmation emails to the customer and a notice to you, with a log of every message sent.

Each car park keeps its own rules

Opening hours are set per weekday, with closures and special days on top, and each location lists its own spaces.

On a phone

The booking form is built for keyboards and screen readers, follows the visitor’s dark mode, and fits a narrow screen.

Free and Pro

Everything above is in the free plugin, with no limit on locations, spaces or bookings. Nothing in it is time-limited or switched off pending payment, and it contacts no outside service.

Pro is a separate download that adds what a larger operator needs: numbered bays that are booked one by one, a pricing-rule engine, deposits, bookable extras, tax rates, customer groups, Stripe and PayPal payments, SMS and Telegram notifications, booking reminders and a daily report, PDF invoices, rescheduling by the customer, a Google Maps location map and a dark theme for the admin. Pro costs €39 a year for one site or €59 a year for unlimited sites.

A pricing rule that lowers the rate by 20 percent for stays of 7 days or more at one location, with its conditions and a summary in plain words

Plugixa Car Parking needs WordPress 6.5 and PHP 8.2 or later. Start with Getting Started, compare the editions in Free vs Pro, or see the Plugixa Car Parking page.
