Pricing calendar - Plugixa Car Rental

The pricing calendar PRO shows a month at a time what one vehicle model costs per day once your pricing rules have been applied. It is the quickest way to check that a season starts and ends where you meant, and that two rules stack the way you expect.

Open it from Plugixa Car Rental, then Pricing calendar in the Fleet group of the app’s sidebar. It comes with the Pricing rules app.

Choosing what to show

Field Notes
Vehicle model Required. Until you choose one the screen says “Choose a vehicle model to see its prices.”
Pickup location “Leave empty for the rates used everywhere.” Choose a location to see the rates and rules for rentals picked up there. Its timezone decides which day is “today”.
Rental length (days) 1 to 365. “Rates and some rules depend on it.” It picks the rate card bracket (1-2, 3-6, 7+ days in the demo) and decides whether rules limited to Rentals of at least / at most apply.

Above the calendar, “Rate card: €55,00 a day” is the daily rate for that model, location and length before any rule.

The calendar has its own toolbar. The arrows move to the previous and next month, Today comes back to the current month, and the small calendar on the left jumps to any month. The menu on the right switches between Month, which lays the days out as a grid, and Agenda, which lists them one under the other with the rules written out in full. The icon at the far left hides or shows the small calendar.

If the model has no rate for that length at that location, the calendar shows “This model has no rate for a rental of that length here, so there is nothing to show.” Add a matching bracket in Rates, or change the length or the location.

Reading the calendar

The month is laid out Monday first. Each day holds one bar with its daily rate and, after it, the names of the rules that changed it, such as “€63,25 · Weekend pickups”. In a narrow column the names are cut short; the Agenda view shows them in full.

Bar colour Meaning
Blue The rate card price. No rule changed it.
Amber Rules made the day dearer than the rate card.
Green Rules made the day cheaper than the rate card.
Grey The date is in the past.

Only the days of the month you are looking at are priced: the days of the previous and next month that fill the first and last rows stay empty.

In the screenshot, the Corolla’s rate card is €55,00 a day and the Weekend pickups rule (+15%) raises every Saturday and Sunday to €63,25. At the end of the month the weekend reads €56,93: those days are more than 30 days away, so Book 30 days ahead (-10%) applies on top.

Exactly what each price means

Each day is priced by the same calculation the booking form uses, so the calendar never shows a price a booking would not be charged. It answers one question:

What would one day of this model cost, on this date, in a rental of the length you entered, if somebody booked it now?

Two things follow from that.

  • Early-booking and last-minute rules count from today. A rule like “Book 30 days ahead -10%” shows on the days that are at least 30 days away and not on the nearer ones. Tomorrow, the line moves by a day.
  • The rental length is a setting, not the number of days shown. Every day is shown as if it were one day of a rental of the length you typed. To see a long-rental discount, type a length that qualifies for it.

The price is the rental’s daily rate only. Extras, one-way and after-hours fees, driver age surcharges, delivery and tax are not included, and nor is a coupon.

Starting a rule from a day

Click any day’s bar to open a New pricing rule with From and To set to that date. The calendar itself cannot be edited: bars cannot be dragged or resized, and clicking an empty part of a day does nothing. Widen the dates, choose the change and save: the calendar picks up the new rule as soon as you return to it.

Who can see it

The calendar is read-only and is available to anyone who can open the pricing rules. It shows only Published rules, the same set the booking form uses.
