Settings - Plugixa Car Rental
Open Plugixa Car Rental, then Settings, the last item of the Configuration group in the app’s sidebar.
The screen is split into sections, listed down the left side. This page covers the general sections: Number formatting, Date and time, Currency, Lists and Uninstall. The other sections belong to a feature and are described on that feature’s page (see the table at the end).
Who can open it
The Settings screen needs the plugixa_car_rental_manage_settings capability.
Administrators have it. Other staff, such as a desk agent, only have it if you
give it to them.
The Uninstall section is drawn only for users who can manage the whole site
(the WordPress manage_options capability), and only they can change it.
Saving
The sections are one form split across tabs. A change in one section stays pending when you move to another, and the Save button at the top right saves every section at once. The screen confirms with “Settings saved.”
Each section has its own address, so you can bookmark it or send it to a
colleague, for example #/settings?tab=currency.
A section that belongs to an app you have switched off in the App manager shows “This app is switched off in the App manager.” with a link, Open the App manager.
Number formatting

“How quantities are written throughout the app.”
| Option | Default | Choices and limits |
|---|---|---|
| Quantity decimals | 2 | 0 to 6. Decimals for numbers that are not money. |
| Decimal separator | Period . | Period, Comma, Space, Apostrophe |
| Thousands separator | Comma , | Period, Comma, Space, Apostrophe |
The Preview shows 1234567.5 written with your choices.
The two separators cannot be the same. If you save them equal, both go back to the defaults (period for decimals, comma for thousands).
The separators are also used for money in the admin. For a euro business in Portugal, choose Comma for decimals and Period for thousands to get €1.234,50.
Date and time

“How dates are written throughout the app.”
| Option | Default | Choices |
|---|---|---|
| Date format | 2026-09-05 (Y-m-d) | 2026-09-05 (Y-m-d), 05/09/2026 (d/m/Y), 09/05/2026 (m/d/Y), 05.09.2026 (d.m.Y), 05-09-2026 (d-m-Y), 5 Sep 2026 (j M Y), Sep 5, 2026 (M j, Y) |
The note under it reads “Times are shown in the site timezone, set in WordPress under Settings -> General.” followed by that timezone. The plugin has no timezone setting of its own. A location in another timezone can have its own.
The date format applies to the admin app. The printed invoice uses the date format set in WordPress under Settings -> General.
Currency

“How prices and values are written.”
| Option | Default | Choices and limits |
|---|---|---|
| Currency | USD | One of 58 currency codes, from USD, EUR and GBP to MAD, BRL and MXN. |
| Symbol position | Before the amount | Before the amount (€1.234,50) or After the amount (1.234,50 €). |
| Currency decimals | 2 | 0 to 4. How many decimals money is shown with in the admin. |
The Preview shows 1234.50 in your currency, written with these choices and the separators from Number formatting. The symbol comes from the currency code; there is no separate symbol field.
Every price is in this one currency. Rates, extras, coupons, fees and deposits are entered and charged in it. Changing the currency does not convert any amount: a rate of 55 becomes 55 of the new currency. Bookings already made keep the currency they were made in.
Amounts are rounded to the currency’s own number of decimals when a booking is priced (two for EUR, none for JPY), whatever Currency decimals says. That option only changes how money is displayed.
The booking form and the customer portal write prices the way the site’s language does, rather than with these options.
To let customers book and pay in other currencies, see Currencies PRO.
Lists

“How much of a list is shown at once.”
| Option | Default | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Records per page | 50 | “Between 10 and 200.” |
This is how many rows the admin lists (bookings, models, vehicles and so on) show per page. A number outside the limits is saved as the nearest limit.
Uninstall

“Off by default: deleting the plugin removes its files and keeps your fleet, bookings and settings, so installing it again picks up where you left off. Deactivating never deletes anything.”
| Option | Default |
|---|---|
| Delete all rental data when the plugin is deleted | Off |
With the switch on, deleting the plugin from Plugins in WordPress drops every table the plugin created and removes its settings. That includes all bookings, payments and invoices, and cannot be undone. A warning appears under the switch while it is on: “Deleting the plugin will now permanently remove every booking, vehicle, location, payment, invoice and setting, unless another copy of the plugin is still installed, because that copy uses the same data.”
The data is kept, even with the switch on, when another copy of the plugin is still installed in another folder (for example the free and Pro editions side by side), because that copy uses the same data. Deactivating the plugin never deletes anything.
See Privacy and uninstall for exactly what is removed.
