Free vs Pro - Plugixa Easy Social Share Buttons

The free edition is a complete share button plugin, not a trial. Nothing in it is disabled, nothing is time-limited, and it contains no Pro code waiting to be unlocked.

Pro is a separate download: the same plugin plus a pro/ directory holding more features. Whether a feature exists on a site is decided by whether its code is there, never by a licence check.

Pro translations

Pro’s sentences are not part of the free edition’s translation template. Pro has its own template in pro/languages/, and loads a translated file from that folder, for the site’s language, alongside the free edition’s translations. Where no such file exists for a language, the Pro screens read in English.

The file name Pro looks for, and the order the files are loaded in, are on the Translations page.

Licensing

Licences, payments and updates are handled by Freemius.

  • There is no trial. The plugin does not offer a time-limited one.
  • The licence is not a feature switch. The plugin never asks whether a feature may run. Pro features run because the Pro download contains their code.
  • The opt-in is optional. An opt-in screen is shown after activation, and you can skip it. See Privacy and uninstall.

Moving between the editions

Installing Pro over Free keeps everything: share sets, follow profiles, settings, counts and click history are the same data in both editions. The plugin notices that Pro’s features have arrived and sets them up on the next page load, so no reactivation is needed.

If Pro is removed

Going back to the free edition does not delete what Pro stored.

Pro data What happens on the free edition
UTM and short link settings They stay stored, and nothing applies them. Buttons share the full, untagged address
Short links already made They stay with their posts, unused
A set in a Distinctive style It is drawn with the base look until you choose another style. Saving the set in the free edition resets its style to Default
Popup and fly-in placements, and their trigger settings They stay stored. The two spots do not exist, so nothing is drawn in them
A post’s pin image and description They stay on the post, unused. Pinterest buttons use the featured image
Quote boxes and email forms in posts Their block and shortcode no longer exist, so they are not drawn. The content stays in the post
Email service settings and keys They stay stored, unused
A post’s own share set choice It stays on the post, unused. The post uses its post type’s sets
Clicks recorded by placement They stay in the click table. The free dashboard does not break them down by placement

Saving the Settings screen in the free edition does not wipe Pro’s settings: keys the free edition does not recognise are carried forward untouched. Installing Pro again finds everything as it was.

Uninstalling the plugin altogether removes its settings in both editions. See Privacy and uninstall.
