The free edition is a complete chat widget, not a trial. Nothing in it is
disabled, nothing is time-limited, and it has no limit on visitors, widgets,
channels or leads.
Pro is a separate download: the same plugin plus a pro/ folder holding
ten more features. Whether a feature exists on a site is decided by whether
its code is there, never by a licence check.

Licensing
Licences, payments and updates are handled by Freemius.
- There is no trial. The plugin does not offer a time-limited one.
- The licence is not a feature switch. The plugin never asks Freemius
whether a feature may run. Pro features run because the Pro download
contains their code.
- What is sent. When you activate a licence or check for an update, your
site address, the plugin version and your licence key are sent to
Freemius. An opt-in screen is shown on activation; if you skip it, no
identifiable data is sent. Nothing about your widgets, leads or visitors
is sent anywhere. See
Privacy and uninstall.
Moving from Free to Pro
Installing Pro keeps everything: widgets, leads, analytics and settings are
the same data in both editions. The Pro features’ own tables are created
automatically the first time the plugin loads with Pro present, so no
reactivation is needed.
If Pro is removed
Going back to the free edition does not delete what Pro stored. Because the
code that runs each feature is part of Pro, the free edition leaves the data
alone and, with two exceptions, stops applying it.
| Pro data |
What happens on the free edition |
| Business hours, Country and Language rules on a widget |
They stay stored and keep being applied, because checking a rule is part of the free plugin. The builder lists them with their raw values and lets you delete them, but has no editor for them |
| Hours on a single channel |
They stop being applied, so the channel is shown at all times. They stay stored until that widget is next saved on the free edition, which discards them |
| Agents |
They stay stored. They are no longer added to any widget |
| Your own form questions |
The form no longer asks them. They stay stored until that widget is next saved on the free edition, which discards them |
| Answers already given |
They stay in the database. The Leads screen no longer shows them |
| Webhooks |
They stay stored. Nothing is sent |
| CRM connections and their keys |
They stay stored. Nothing is sent |
| A/B tests |
They stay stored. A running test’s split stops, so both of its widgets are shown to everyone until you switch one off |
| An Order status channel |
Visitors do not see it. In the builder it is marked “Not shown on your site”, and it is removed from the widget the next time the widget is saved on the free edition |
| The dashboard filter and dark mode |
Gone. Neither stores anything on the server |
Saving the Settings screen on the free edition does not erase stored Pro
settings. Saving a widget on the free edition is different: it keeps the
widget’s rules, and discards the three Pro items marked above that live
inside its channels. If you plan to come back to Pro, avoid re-saving
widgets that use them in the meantime.
Uninstalling the plugin altogether removes all of its data, Pro’s included.

Privacy and uninstall.
