Import - Plugixa Permalink Manager
If the site already has custom addresses from another plugin, you do not have to type them again. The Import screen reads what that plugin stored and copies it.

What can be imported
| Source | What is copied | Edition |
|---|---|---|
| Permalink Manager (Lite or Pro) | Custom addresses with each item’s update mode, its old-address and external redirects, and optionally its settings and its permastructures | Free |
| Custom Permalinks | Custom addresses of posts and terms. They arrive set to Keep my URI | Free |
| Rank Math | Its exact-match redirects | Pro |
| Yoast SEO Premium | Its exact-match redirects | Pro |
| SEOPress | Its exact-match redirects | Pro |
A source is offered only when its data is found in the database. The plugin it came from does not have to be active, or even installed.
How an import runs
- Open Import. Each source found is shown with a count of what it holds.
- Click Preview on a source. Nothing is written; you see how many addresses would be imported, skipped or refused.
- Run the import.
An import is a job like the bulk tools: it shows its progress and works in batches.
Undo restores the addresses and update modes an import changed. Imported settings, patterns and redirects stay. Imported SEO redirects are not part of undo; remove them on the Redirects screen.
What happens to addresses this plugin already has
An item that already has a custom address here gets the imported one, and the address it had becomes a redirect, provided this plugin was actually serving addresses when the import started. Addresses that were never live are simply replaced.
What is skipped or refused
- Addresses for items that no longer exist are skipped.
- An address that another item already owns here is reported as failed.
- Redirects that are not exact matches are skipped. Regular-expression and wildcard redirects in an SEO plugin are not imported.
- So are SEO-plugin entries that are not redirects, such as a 410, and ones whose source is a live custom address.
The other plugin’s data is never modified or deleted. Its licence key, if it has one, is never read.
Moving over from Permalink Manager
The two plugins cannot both serve addresses on the same site. While Permalink Manager is active, this plugin stands its routing down: the admin screens, tools and import all work, but visitors are served by Permalink Manager. A notice on every screen says so.
The safe order is:
- Install and activate Plugixa Permalink Manager. Nothing changes for visitors.
- Open Import, preview, and import from Permalink Manager.
- Check a few addresses in the URI Editor.
- Use the notice’s button to deactivate Permalink Manager. From that moment this plugin serves the same addresses.
There is no moment in between when an address is unanswered.
After importing redirects PRO
Imported redirects appear on the Redirects screen as manual redirects, where they can be edited, switched off or deleted like any other. Redirects to other sites follow the allow-list in Redirects settings.
Who can import
Import needs the plugin’s import permission, which administrators have.
