Conditions - Plugixa Image Map

PRO A condition decides who sees a hotspot and when.

Select a hotspot, open the Behaviour tab and scroll to When it shows.

The When it shows section with From and Until dates and the Who sees it menu

Dates

Field Meaning
From The first day the hotspot shows.
Until The last day it shows.

Both days are included, and either can be left empty. Dates follow your site’s time zone. If you enter them the wrong way round they are swapped.

Use dates for a pop-up stand, a seasonal trail, or an offer that ends on Friday.

Who sees it

Choice The hotspot shows to
Everyone All visitors. The default.
Visitors who are not logged in Guests only.
Logged-in visitors Anyone with an account.
Logged-in visitors with a role The roles you tick. Choose at least one, or it shows to everyone.

When a hotspot has dates and an audience, both must match.

What “hidden” means

A hotspot whose condition does not match is not in the page at all: not its shape, not its link, not its tooltip text. It is not merely made invisible, so viewing the page source reveals nothing.

Pages are still cached. Visitors who see the same set of hotspots share one cached copy, and visitors who see a different set get their own.

In the editor

Every hotspot stays visible while you edit, whatever its condition, and the preview shows them all too. To check what a guest sees, open the page in a private window.

Several at once

Select several hotspots to give them all the same condition. If they currently differ, the panel says so before you change anything.

Important: conditions need Pro to be enforced

Conditions are applied by the Pro plugin. If Pro is deactivated and the free plugin shows the map, every hotspot shows to everyone. Do not rely on a condition to protect something confidential; use it to tidy what people see.
