Privacy and Data - Plugixa Image Map
Where your maps are stored
In your site’s own database, in tables of their own:
| Table | Holds |
|---|---|
…plugixaimagemap_maps |
One row per map: title, status and the map itself. |
…plugixaimagemap_revisions |
Saved versions and unsaved drafts. |
…plugixaimagemap_stats PRO |
Daily totals per map and hotspot. |
Pictures stay in the media library. Settings are one WordPress option.
What leaves your site
The plugin’s own code makes no requests to other servers. Maps, pictures, tooltips and statistics are never sent anywhere. The fonts in the map are system fonts, and no script, stylesheet or image is loaded from another site.
Licensing and updates are handled by Freemius, the service the plugin is sold through. When you first open the plugin you are asked whether to opt in to sharing basic site information with it; Skip is always offered and the plugin works the same. Activating a Pro licence contacts Freemius to check the licence. Its privacy policy is linked from that screen.
What is stored about visitors
Free: nothing.
Pro, with statistics: daily totals only: how many times a map was viewed and how many times each hotspot’s tooltip was opened or clicked. No cookie is set, and no IP address, user id or browser detail is stored with the counts. A browser that sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is not counted.
What is stored about your team
Each saved version records which user saved it, so the history can say who changed what.
Conditions and logged-in visitors PRO
A hotspot limited to logged-in visitors or to a role is decided on the server each time the page is built. Nothing about the visitor is stored to do it.
Uninstalling
Deleting the plugin keeps your maps unless you turn on Settings > Uninstalling > Delete all maps when the plugin is deleted. With it on, the tables above and the settings are removed. Pictures in the media library are never touched.
Exporting and erasing personal data
The plugin stores no personal data about visitors, so it adds nothing to WordPress’s personal data export and erasure tools.
