Shortcodes - Plugixa Car Parking
The plugin has three shortcodes, and a fourth with Pro. Each one makes one kind of public page.
| Shortcode | What it shows |
|---|---|
[plugixa_car_parking] |
The booking wizard |
[plugixa_car_parking_summary] |
One booking’s summary, opened from a link |
[plugixa_car_parking_account] |
The customer account |
[plugixa_car_parking_map] PRO |
A map of your locations |
The booking form
[plugixa_car_parking]
Without attributes it shows the standard wizard with every active location.
[plugixa_car_parking form="airport" location="terminal-2"]
| Attribute | Default | Value |
|---|---|---|
form |
empty | The slug of a booking form. The form decides the steps, the extra fields, the colour and which locations are offered. Empty shows the standard form. |
location |
empty | The id or the slug of the location the form starts on. Empty starts on the first location offered. |
You do not have to write the form attribute by hand. Car Parking -> Booking
forms shows the complete shortcode for each form, with a button that copies
it.
The shortcode also accepts view (default wizard) and mode. Version 1.0.0
reads both and does nothing with them, so there is no reason to set either.
What the shortcode shows instead of the form
| What you see | Why |
|---|---|
| “No parking locations are available yet.” | No location is active, or the form’s locations are all inactive or in the trash. |
| Nothing at all, for visitors | form names a form that is Inactive or in the trash. Somebody who may edit booking forms sees “This booking form is inactive, so visitors do not see it.” in its place. |
| The standard form | form names a slug that no form has. The shortcode does not print an error for this. |
| A payment result | The customer has just come back from paying online. See Booking wizard. |
If location names a location the form does not offer, the form starts with no
location chosen. When several locations are offered the customer picks one from
the list. When only one is offered there is no list to pick from, and Check
availability does nothing, so correct or remove the attribute.
The booking summary
[plugixa_car_parking_summary]
It has no attributes. Put it on a page of its own, then choose that page as Booking summary page in Car Parking -> Settings -> Bookings. From then on:
- the confirmation screen has a View your booking button
- customer emails link to the summary
- the customer account has a View button on each booking
The page shows a booking only when its address carries the booking’s reference and the matching token, which is what those links contain. Opened without them it shows “This summary link is invalid or has expired.” What the summary contains is described in Booking wizard.
The customer account
[plugixa_car_parking_account]
It has no attributes. See Customer account.
The map PRO
[plugixa_car_parking_map height="420" zoom="5"]
| Attribute | Default | Value |
|---|---|---|
height |
420 |
Height of the map |
zoom |
5 |
Starting zoom level |
See Map.
Where shortcodes can be used
Anywhere WordPress runs shortcodes: a page, a post, a Shortcode block, a page builder’s shortcode element or a widget area that supports shortcodes. In the block editor the booking form also has its own block.
The stylesheet and the scripts are loaded only on pages where a shortcode or the block is used. The Booking page and Booking summary page settings, and the page a customer returns to after paying online, look for the booking form in pages, so put the form on a page and not on a post.
A page can hold the booking form more than once. Each one runs by itself and follows its own steps. The extra fields and the coupon switch, however, are taken from the first form on the page, so put forms that differ on separate pages.
What Pro adds to these pages
Pro features add to the pages above without a shortcode of their own.
- Extras PRO appear on the space step of the booking form.
- Deposits PRO add the choice of what to pay now to the review step and to the summary’s Pay now box.
- Reschedule PRO adds an action to each booking in the customer account.
- Invoices PRO add a PDF link to the summary.
