Plugixa CRM - User Documentation

Welcome to the official documentation for Plugixa CRM, a WordPress plugin that runs a sales team inside your own site. Records live in the plugin’s own normalised tables rather than as posts, so lists, filters and reporting stay fast as the history grows.

Plugixa CRM ships in two editions, and the line between them is simpler than most:

  • Free - the CRM. Thirty-two modules: accounts and contacts, leads and conversion, opportunities on a pipeline, tasks, calls and meetings on one calendar, email in and out, campaigns and mass email, cases and a knowledge base, reports and dashboards, teams, roles with field-level rules, the customer portal, PDF templates, import and export, and webhooks.
  • Pro PRO - the connectors, and custom fields: your site’s own contact forms, Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, Twilio, WooCommerce, and fields you define yourself on contacts, accounts, leads and deals.

The free edition is not a trial. There is no licence check anywhere in this plugin: the free build simply does not contain the premium directory, so a connector you have not bought is code that is not there. See the complete Free vs Pro feature matrix.

Three audiences, one install

This is the shape of the product, and it is worth holding in mind while you read the rest.

Who Where they work What they see
Your staff wp-admin, or a page of your own site through [plugixa_crm_app] Everything their role allows
Your customers The portal, on a page you choose Only the panels you switch on. All but cases start off
Anybody The public knowledge base Only articles marked public

Two things this plugin deliberately does not have

Both are worth knowing up front, because people arriving from another Plugixa plugin look for them.

There is no App Manager, and modules cannot be switched off. Modules are discovered on the filesystem and every one of them loads. What you can switch on and off individually are the integration connectors.

There is no WP-CLI. No commands are registered. Everything is done through the admin or the REST API.

Key concepts

Term What it is
Account A company. Contacts belong to it through a link that records their role
Contact A person, with as many email addresses and phone numbers as they really have
Lead Somebody not qualified yet. Converting one creates an account, a contact and an opportunity together
Opportunity A deal: an amount, a close date and a stage on a pipeline
Pipeline An ordered set of stages, each with its own probability
Case A support request, from a form, an email or a phone call
Target list An audience built from contacts, leads and accounts
Team A group of users, which is what gives the “team” access scope its meaning
Role Per entity and per action: all, team, own or none, plus field-level rules
Portal user A customer’s WordPress account, linked to the contact they speak for
